Prior Approval granted for new Wells Motor Cars production and development facility

October 28, 2021

Since 2020 we have been working closely alongside Apex Planning Consultants on a proposed change of use application involving former agricultural buildings on land near Bishop’s Itchington in Warwickshire. We initially reviewed the technical issues related to the site and developed solutions, which then allowed the client to purchase the land, before moving on to the preparation of specialist reports for the Prior Approval application.

It is with great pleasure that we are delighted to announce that Prior Approval has now been granted for this change of use, paving the way for the construction of a new production and development facility for Wells Motor Cars. Wells Motor Cars is committed to reinvigorating Britain’s motor manufacturing heritage and recently unveiled the Wells Vertige, a new British-built, 2.0-litre mid-engine sports coupe and the brainchild of Robin Wells, founder of Wells Motor Cars. The car was showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and has since progressed to limited production.

The first batch of just 7 cars is already sold and should be ready by Spring 2022, before production eventually increases to 25 cars per year. These exclusive sports cars, which will have an on the road price of £45,000-£50,000, will be constructed at the new production and development facility. The new development has been designed to help facilitate increased production levels, while also providing the engineers, designers, and buyers with an environment worthy of such an exclusive car.

We have provided Transportation & Highways, Water & Flood Risk, Structures, and Geoenvironmental services for the development to date, and are looking forward to seeing it progress further. For more information on Wells Motor Cars and the future of this British business, please visit
