Create’s Civil Engineering team continues to grow with the appointment of James White, Principal Civil Engineer

January 29, 2026

Create is delighted to welcome James White to the business, who joins us as Principal Civil Engineer based out of our head office in Norwich.

Already a registered Engineering Technician (EngTech), James is currently working towards finalising his Civil Engineering degree at the University of Suffolk, demonstrating a strong commitment to professional standards and technical excellence.

He joins Create from Arthur Consultancy Services, where he spent the past two years as a Senior Civil Engineer, whilst also working on his degree on a day-release basis. Prior to this, James worked alongside Create’s Associate Director for Civil Engineering, Rob Brusselen, at Barter Hill Partnership. He also spent eighteen months at Norfolk County Council, training as a Highways Technician and contributing to the North Distributor Road – a major infrastructure project in Norwich.

James brings significant experience in civil engineering and drainage design, having worked across a broad range of sectors including residential, industrial and commercial developments, anaerobic digestion plants, and water and waste management facilities. He is highly proficient in software such as Causeway Flow and Civil 3D, and has experience leading small teams and coordinating civil engineering inputs with other technical disciplines.

His expertise also includes flood risk mitigation, supporting the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, evacuation plans, and flood resilience measures reports.

Comfortable liaising directly with clients, James is a confident and practical engineer with a strong focus on buildability, ensuring designs are optimised for delivery.

“James’ technical knowledge and skillset, combined with his ability to quickly adapt to new software, will be a real asset to the business – particularly as we take on increasingly complex, infrastructure-led schemes. He joins us at an exciting period of growth, and I look forward to seeing him develop as part of our Civil Engineering team.”
