Create welcomes new starters across the business and announces apprenticeships for 2026-27 and beyond

Create are delighted to welcome a number of new and recent starters across technical and support teams. These hires continue an exciting period of growth for the business, powered by our membership of the Lanpro Group – announced in April 2026. With our shared ambitions, we are working to increase both our long-term resilience and technical capacity and capabilities, enabling us to deliver for current and future clients. We are also thrilled to announce the start of the new academic year and three apprenticeships across the business, with Lola Rogerson, Leah Drummond and Louie Mitchell starting their courses.

Lola Rogerson, Trainee Technician

Lola joined us in Norwich in January as a Trainee Technician and has already been making her mark with the Civil Engineering team.

We are now pleased to announce that Lola will be furthering her professional development by undertaking the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Apprenticeship at Anglia Ruskin University. The five-year programme blends academic study with practical learning, covering topics including geotechnical engineering, structural mechanics, sustainable design, and civil engineering. On successful completion, Lola will be able to independently apply for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status through the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Leah Drummond, Apprentice Civil Engineer

Leah joins us as an Apprentice Civil Engineer in Glasgow, enrolling on the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Apprenticeship programme at the University of Strathclyde. Having previously studied Mathematics for a year before committing to a degree apprenticeship, Leah brings strong analytical foundations to the role, and we look forward to supporting her as she embarks on her engineering career.

The four-year degree is fully funded by Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) and the Scottish Funding Council. It combines structured online study with monthly on-campus days and work-based learning, allowing Leah to develop her engineering skills in a real workplace environment from day one.

Louie Mitchell, Apprentice Civil Engineer

Louie returns to our Norwich office having previously spent time with us doing work experience. He will now be undertaking the Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at City College Norwich. The three-year programme combines college-based learning with practical training, covering topics including construction principles, health and safety, civil engineering design, highway construction, and project management.

On successful completion, Louie will satisfy the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician with the relevant professional engineering institution, with the opportunity to pursue further qualifications with the ICE. He has already started working closely with his colleagues in the Civil Engineering team.

Owen Skoyles, Graduate Civil Engineer

Owen joins us as a Graduate Civil Engineer, having completed his BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering at Nottingham Trent University this past summer. Initially, Owen will be spending time with our Transport & Highways team, mentored by Aidan Fisher-Rowe and Mark Allen, before transferring to the Civil Engineering team.

This time with Transport & Highways will give Owen a greater understanding of how transport and highways requirements feed directly into infrastructure design and development. This is an approach that reflects Create’s broader commitment to developing rounded engineers.

Owen follows in the footsteps of other Create graduates who have spent time across different disciplines, building the multidisciplinary skills and mindset that are central to how we work.

Amber Jefferson, Accounts Payable and Credit Control Specialist

Amber joins our Norwich office with over 25 years’ experience in Accounts, with a background spanning a diverse range of sectors, including telecoms, manufacturing and agriculture. She brings extensive expertise in financial management and credit control, specialising in leveraging new software to increase in-house efficiencies.

Amber will be working closely alongside James Dain (Finance Director) and Angie Fisher (Credit Controller).

Simon Wheeler, Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Simon joins us as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, based out of our London office. He previously worked for JBA Consulting and brings with him over 30 years’ experience in both consultancy and contracting. Core competencies include report writing, geotechnical design of foundations, slopes and retaining walls, ground investigations, and project management. He has significant experience working on sites within London, having worked on Battersea Power Station, the Piccadilly Line and Northern Line Extension, as well as international experience gained while working for BuroHappold on large development projects in Saudi Arabia.

Simon joins a busy Geo-Environmental team, led by Colin Buchanan (Technical Director).
