Sunanda Swain Achieves New HQM Assessor Qualification
We’re pleased to share that our Technical Director for Sustainability, Sunanda Swain, has recently passed the Home Quality Mark (HQM) Existing Assessor Examination on her first attempt.
This qualification further strengthens Sunanda’s expertise in sustainability and enhances our ability to support clients in delivering high-quality, environmentally responsible residential developments across the UK.
Earlier this year, the Building Research Establishment (BRE) announced that the Home Quality Mark has now become part of BREEAM UK New Construction: Residential, following a rebrand in April 2025. The updated scheme brings the HQM standard into the broader BREEAM framework, offering a more streamlined and robust approach to assessing the sustainability and performance of new homes across the UK.
As part of our continued commitment to professional development, the costs associated with the exam were covered by the business. We are proud to invest in our team and support their growth, ensuring we remain at the forefront of sustainable design and environmental assessment. All of us would like to say congratulations to Sunanda on this achievement.
“We actively encourage our team to pursue professional development, and we’re delighted to support Sunanda in achieving this qualification. It reflects our commitment to technical excellence and staying ahead of the curve as sustainability standards evolve.”

This news also follows our recent addition of a BREEAM In-Use licence to our organisation, enabling us to offer whole-life sustainability assessments across a broader range of building types. Together, these developments demonstrate our growing capability to support clients at every stage of the project lifecycle.
