Pooja Nair is now a BREEAM Assessor for UK Non-Domestic New Construction
Create are proud to announce that Sustainability Consultant, Pooja Nair is now a qualified BREEAM Assessor for UK Non-Domestic New Construction. BREEAM UK New Construction focuses on mitigating the environmental impacts and improving the performance of new builds in the UK.
Since joining us in July last year, Pooja has become an invaluable asset to our Sustainability team. She has worked closely alongside other Sustainability Consultants, actively contributing to multiple projects at both the design and post-construction review stages, supporting our BREEAM assessors. During this time, she has continually honed her expertise in sustainable construction practices and environmental assessment methods including LEED and WELL. The natural next step, was to utilise her experience gained working alongside our BREEAM Assessors to achieve full qualification herself. This required Pooja to undertake an extensive training course to prepare for the demanding role of an Assessor. The BREEAM UK New Construction course, was fully funded by the business and required thirty hours of self-study, two days of classroom/virtual events, a two hour technical and an hour and a half general exam.
Pooja’s successful completion of the course in early January, means she now understands the BREEAM process and the context for BREEAM UK New Construction. She can help clients to confidently navigate and assess the technical aspects of their new buildings and provide input into material selection, resource and energy efficiency, occupant wellbeing and the certification process. Pooja’s input will help our clients’ buildings to meet or exceed their objectives and aspirations by creating healthy, comfortable, high-performing buildings which also increase building values and incomes.
“I am delighted that Pooja has achieved BREEAM Assessor status for UK Non-Domestic New Construction. This will not only greatly enhance our Sustainability team but also ensure our clients continue to receive excellent standards of service and high-quality advice.”
