Business Planning Day and Christmas Party 2023
On Thursday 30th November we held a Business Planning Day and our Christmas Party at the George Hotel in Norwich. The day brought together over 50 members of our team for a day of reflection, discovery and insight, with the evening festivities resulting in a few sore heads the next day.
As a multidisciplinary consultancy with people based across the UK, either in office, hybrid or remote working situations, it can often be difficult to get most of us in the same place, at the same time. Christmas is more often than not, the perfect time to unite and hosting the Christmas Party and Business Planning Day at the same time, provided colleagues with the chance to meet recent additions to the team and the opportunity to have their say on the future direction of business operations.
The day began with a review of the year, presented by Managing Director, Jonathan Cage. Jonathan covered the successes we have had over the past 12 months and celebrated the achievements of a few individuals who have made significant contributions to the business.
“It was fantastic to get so many of us together in the same place and be able to celebrate the technical teams and disciplines that provide a great quality of service to our clients.”

The afternoon session was led by our recently appointed Business Consultant, Chris Sargisson. Since his arrival, Chris has started to undertake a detailed review of our business operations with a view to ensure continued growth and development, well into the future. Chris presented on several key business topics, based on his findings so far, and announced that all colleagues will be contacted individually in the coming weeks to have their say on key issues, as part of a confidential SWOT analysis. He also spoke about the strong progress made in marketing and communications this year, highlighted by the recent launch of the new website and brochures. Throughout his presentation, Chris took and answered questions from the team, providing insightful and honest responses.
“Having proactive and engaging conversations with everyone in the business is so crucial to its future success. The Business Planning Day provided me with a great insight into the people that make Create work, it also highlighted various items which will need to be addressed going forwards.”

The evening’s event saw our teams converge once again on the hotel, only this time their tables were adorned with bottles of wine and Sponge cakes from Byfords of Holt. Shortly after arrival, dinner was served and many drinks were drunk. We are quite certain everyone was done partying by 2am, after what was a long day, especially for those who had travelled from outside of Norfolk.
