Claire Burroughs promoted to Technical Director
We are delighted to announce the promotion of Claire Burroughs to Technical Director (Water & Flood Risk).
Based out of our London office, Claire is a highly experienced engineer in flood risk and sustainable drainage, with a proven track record of delivering innovative and pragmatic solutions in civil and environmental engineering. Since joining Create in 2023 as Associate Director, she has combined her technical expertise with a passion for ensuring that developments are safe from flooding, sustainable, and environmentally responsible.
Well known for her technical knowledge and project management capabilities, Claire has built robust relationships with clients across both the public and private sectors. These clients include Hawridge Strategic Land Limited, Planning Potential, the Environment Agency and Norfolk Rivers Trust, with whom she has outstanding track records, delivering projects that balance development needs with environmental stewardship. Claire’s expertise has allowed us to significantly expand our technical capabilities, enabling us to bid for projects that were previously outside our comfort zone. In particular, she has become highly adept at overcoming planning objections and delivering complex solutions on projects facing flood risk and drainage challenges.
Alongside her technical work, Claire has also managed and mentored junior engineers in core areas including flood risk, sustainable drainage, environmental mitigation, and Nutrient Neutrality solutions.
Through this mentorship and leadership, Claire has played an integral role in building our Water & Flood Risk team, placing her in an excellent position to lead going forward.
