Create are delighted to support this year’s Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards

January 22, 2024

We are thrilled to once again be sponsoring a category at this year’s Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards, which take place on Wednesday 17th April at Epic Studios in Norwich. This year we are the proud sponsors of the Residential Project of the Year category, which celebrates inspirational residential projects built in the region.

“We are hugely grateful to Create and other sponsors for their continued support of the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards. Local support and sponsorship plays such a crucial role, not just during awards season but all year round, ensuring that we can continue to host and provide engaging events for all our Members. I’m very much looking forward to seeing everyone in April, as we unite to celebrate the very best of the construction industry across our region.”

John Dixon, Chair – Norfolk Constructing Excellence

The residential sector is ever-changing thanks to a combination of social and demographic trends. Increasing urbanisation and population growth is making it harder for people to own property and a shortage of land is forcing developers to collaborate early with architects, consultants and contractors to deliver truly flexible, multi-use spaces often combining social, cultural and commercial aspects.

Create has a rich history of providing multidisciplinary support throughout the planning, design and build stages for residential schemes in Norwich, Norfolk and further afield, working with the likes of Taylor Wimpey, Clarion Housing, Halsbury Homes, Sheen Lane Developments, Cambridge Investment Partnership and Countryside Properties to name but a few. We also played a small role on last year’s NCEC Awards 2023 Residential Project of the Year winner, Canary Quay pictured below. With a team of chartered engineers, consultants, specialists and planners, we know how to create viable places to live where the number of residential dwellings is balanced by high levels of accessibility, public transport connections, healthy air, low noise, water management features and green space.

Canary Quay, Norwich
RG Carter Limited

Canary Quay was built by Drayton-based RG Carter Limited for Broadland Housing Association. The £60m high density development of high-quality apartments alongside the River Wensum in Norwich, has simultaneously provided modern and affordable accommodation, whilst regenerating a disused brownfield site. It stands as an exemplar example of what developers, architects, consultants and contractors can deliver when they work together.

We are excited to see the entries into this year’s Residential Project of the Year category and we wish everyone the best of luck. The deadline for entries is Friday 1st March.
