Alan DeMerquis takes the reigns of Create’s MEP Building Services team

We’re delighted to announce that Alan DeMerquis has joined the business and will take on the role of Technical Director for MEP Building Services. In this role Alan will be responsible for the output, growth and performance of the entire MEP Building Services team, building on a legacy of award-winning mechanical and electrical work.

Alan is an Incorporated Building Services Engineer with over 45 years’ experience working in the construction industry. He specialises in managing large complex schemes with a high level of services integration. He possesses strong commercial awareness, significant leadership and project management skills. These skills were gained over the course of 16 years at Pick Everard, where he was responsible for the Building Services discipline in the eastern and southern regions. 

Prior to this, Alan spent 10 years with a design and build contractor and a further 7 years with a bespoke installer. These experiences have moulded Alan into a well-rounded engineer with a comprehensive understanding of procurement routes, contract strategies, supply chain management, construction methods and processes. This includes the detail and information packages necessary to fulfil appointments.

Alan has previously delivered projects within the defence, health, commercial and retail sectors, working alongside notable clients such as the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice, Houses of Parliament, EDF, SSE, and United States Air Force. Recent projects in Alan’s portfolio include various Defence Science and Technology Laboratory projects at Porton Down and several Police Custody Hubs. 

Alan effectively combines commercial management abilities with technical assurance and expertise to successfully navigate projects through the planning, detailed design and construction stages.
