Create renews SMAS Worksafe Designer and Principal Designer accreditation
Create is pleased to confirm that we have successfully renewed our Safety Management Advisory Services (SMAS) Worksafe accreditation for a further year.
Following independent assessment and verification against the SSIP Core Criteria and UK Health & Safety legislation, we have retained Designer and Principal Designer status, valid for 12 months from 15th December 2025.
As a Designer, Create prepares and develops designs that influence construction, including both permanent and temporary works. This role carries specific duties under the CDM Regulations, and our accreditation reflects the strength of our internal procedures, designer risk assessments, and the qualifications and competence of our technical teams.
Our Principal Designer status further demonstrates our capability to plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase of projects, coordinating health and safety matters to reduce risk so far as is reasonably practicable. As part of this process, SMAS assessed our technical expertise, health and safety qualifications, and the systems we have in place to effectively discharge these additional duties.
As part of the overall renewal, SMAS reviewed a range of core areas to confirm that we operate a robust and effective health and safety management system. These included subcontractor assessment procedures, method statements, risk and COSHH assessments, training records, accident history, HSE enforcement actions, and health and safety policies.
“We are proud to once again demonstrate to existing and prospective clients that Create meets the highest standards of health and safety. Our continued SMAS accreditation is further evidence of the quality and robustness of the systems implemented across the business by our Health & Safety Manager, Peter Lavers.” Jonathan Cage, Managing Director
