Commercial redevelopment, Kingston House, gets the go ahead
Create are delighted to hear that Kingston House, Thames Ditton in Elmbridge – for Thamesbury Estates and Lawford & Sons Ltd – has now secured planning approval.
A proposed redevelopment of a brownfield site, Kingston House represents a major new commercial scheme delivering over 1,000m² of floorspace. The existing building will be demolished to make way for a new steel-framed structure comprising three commercial units, designed by Curio Architects.
Set back from the current boundary, the new layout allows for improved access, additional parking, and greater separation from neighbouring residential properties. Located close to the River Thames and within Flood Zone 1, the site required careful consideration of flood risk due to surface water flood risk. To comply with current planning requirements, further improvements were required to the surface water management network.
Create’s Water & Flood Risk were appointed by Planning Potential in 2024 to undertake and prepare the Flood Risk Assessment and SuDS design in support of a planning application. Our team assessed the site’s suitability and provided recommendations to ensure its safe operation during any flood event, alongside integrated SuDS features and mitigation measures that support long-term, sustainable development.
With planning approval now secured, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Planning Potential, Thamesbury Estates, and Lawford & Sons Ltd on future development opportunities.
