Create shortlisted at this year’s Constructing Excellence Essex Club Awards
We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for an award at this year’s Constructing Excellence Essex Club Awards.
The awards, now in their second year, will take place on Wednesday 30th April at Braxted Park Estate, near Great Braxted in Essex. The event is a celebration of the very best of construction across the region.
Create have been shortlisted in the ‘Integration and Collaborative Working’ category for our work on a new Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) at St George’s University Hospital, due for completion this summer.
Designed by Floyd Slaski Architects and being built by Vanguard Healthcare Systems, the new ITU is due to comprise 20 new intensive care bed spaces, isolation rooms and singular rooms with staff support areas, offices, changing facilities and teaching and seminar spaces. Once completed, the building will seamlessly connect the existing Atkinson Morley Wing to the new ITU.
Since 2021, we have been working as part of a design team comprised Currie & Brown (Contract Administrator/Quantity Surveyor), CPC Project Services (Project Manager), and AECOM (Town Planning Consultants). The project stands as a testament to what is possible when you combine various parts into a whole, bringing together a variety of specialisms and disciplines so that they work in unison towards a common goal. Having been involved in the initial feasibility period, we believe that the project showcases the core aspects of collaborative working and most importantly the importance of early involvement and long-term relationships.
By working together, this team has provided a range of specialist services and technical advice, helping to turn Floyd Slaski’s concept into a reality. We are eager to find out if this fantastic project can pick up its first award.
