Mark Salway

Technical Director

Mark is a Chartered Structural/Civil Engineer and Technical Director with over 30 years’ experience. He joined Create in 2020 and is responsible for the growth, output and performance of our Structures team.

Prior to joining us, Mark worked for the likes of WYG Group and AECOM. These experiences ensured he developed a robust understanding of structures and how they interact with the built and natural environment. He also spent time as a Site Engineer, providing specialist technical advice and construction monitoring skills directly to contractors during the build stage.

Mark has worked on a significant number of heavy engineering schemes such as tunnels and bridges, and developed an extensive network of connections. He has worked for clients such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Whitbread, Network Rail, and the Ministry of Defence. His experience makes him the ideal person to take overall leadership responsibilities for the delivery of all structural aspects on a scheme.

Outside of work, Mark likes to walk his dog, read, spend time on his allotment and visit the theatre.
