Technical Director

Who is Mark Salway?

Mark is a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer with more than 30 years’ experience working on projects across the UK. He joined Create in 2020 and is responsible for the growth, output and performance of our Structures team. Prior to joining Create, Mark worked for WYG Group and AECOM, developing a robust understanding of structures and their interaction with the built and natural environment. He also spent time as a Site Engineer, providing specialist technical advice and construction monitoring directly to contractors.


What does Mark bring to our team?

Mark brings significant experience across heavy engineering schemes including tunnels and bridges. He has a detailed understanding of temporary works, foundation design, sub and superstructure. Mark also has experience of undertaking the role of Planning Supervisor, CDM-C and Principal Designer in accordance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations.


Outside of work

Mark likes to walk his dog, read, spend time on his allotment and visit the theatre.

We provided structural and civil engineering services on a luxury collection of six, award-winning, individually designed apartments in Elstree, North London.

Mixed-use residential development at 3 Gallions Close featuring brick apartment buildings with balconies, landscaped courtyard, and pedestrian spaces.

Part of the Thames Road Masterplan, 3 Gallions Close will provide 233 dwellings, a local convenience commercial unit, landscaping and public realm improvements. We were appointed in 2019 to provide multidisciplinary services to support a planning application.

Modern red-brick residential apartment complex with landscaped public plaza, trees, and cyclists, exemplifying contemporary urban mixed-use development design.

7 Thames Road for Inland Homes will comprise 131 residential units, landscaping and public realm improvements, play spaces, car parking and other associated and ancillary works. We’ve been supporting the development since 2020.
