Tom Bennett

Senior Geotechnical & Environmental Consultant

Tom joined Create in 2019 as a Geotechnical Consultant and has since progressed to his current role of Senior Geotechnical & Environmental Consultant.

He graduated Royal Holloway University with a First Class Master’s degree with Honours in Environmental Geoscience and spent the first 5 years of his career working in the North Sea oil and gas industry as a Data Engineer for Halliburton. While offshore, he was responsible for monitoring, reporting, and interpretation of real-time drilling and well data. He later joined A F Howland Associates as a Geotechnical Engineer.

As part of our Geo-environmental team, Tom provides specialist technical services including Phase 1 and 2 contaminated land investigations and follow-on remediation strategies. He also has experience producing site-specific material management and construction logistics plans.

Tom spends the majority of his time in the field, working for clients such as McDonald’s and Places For People. The critical work Tom carries out for our clients often plays a major role in pre-planning and planning. This enables a development to progress towards application and approval.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys fencing and coaches at the Norfolk Fencing Club. He is a former British National Fencing Champion and British No1.
