Ben Dixon

Principal Acoustic Consultant

Ben joined Create in 2018 as an Acoustic Consultant and has since progressed to his current role of Principal Acoustic Consultant. As part of our Acoustics team, Ben has expediently moved projects forward with an objective and driven approach that clients and design teams alike respond well towards and appreciate.

Prior to Create, Ben was an Acoustic Engineer at Stroma and Main Stage Manager at BSTK Festival. He also spent 6 years as a Dryliner before deciding on a career change, which would combine his passion for music with the built environment.

After working on site, Ben returned to university to complete his studies. Where upon request, he presented the findings of his research at the Institute of Acoustics. A summary of this research was subsequently published in the Institute’s monthly publication.

This career experience-to-date has given Ben a unique insight into acoustics within a live construction environment, alongside extensive knowledge of architectural acoustics and the field’s relevant guidance. This has enabled him to recommend and implement robust on-site mitigation measures for a wide variety of projects.

Outside of work, Ben is involved in music and audio production for personal, art and community projects. You can also find him mountain biking or in the gym.
