Graduate Civil Engineer

Collage of five images: a Technical Director climbs a ladder on a rocky beach, two people hold award certificates, a large group at a formal event, four at an exhibit booth, and four pose at a trade show. We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to join our Civil Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your degree, develop your skills, and gain hands-on experience working on real projects that make a positive impact.

At Create, you’ll work on a wide range of projects across the UK, collaborate with like-minded professionals, and play an active role in a dynamic and supportive team. We believe in developing our people by giving you the tools and opportunities to grow your career in a way that’s right for you.

  • Learn to use industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS and Causeway Flow.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys with senior engineers.

  • Receive mentoring and training towards chartership and career progression.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; any exposure to design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Causeway Flow) is a plus but not essential.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical ability, with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Relevant placement or internship experience in civil engineering or consultancy.
  • Awareness of UK design standards, codes and guidance.
  • Experience presenting university projects or group work to others.
  • A working knowledge of social and digital media channels with a view to using these to promote not only your work but also the business.

WHY JOIN CREATE?

  • A competitive salary (based on experience and location) and performance-based bonus scheme.
  • Flexible working arrangements – our guiding principle is simple: if a flexible working arrangement works for you, your manager, and your team, it works for us.
  • Pet-friendly offices – well-behaved dogs are always welcome.
  • Enhanced workplace pension – company makes a 5% contribution.
  • Flexible holiday allowance (buy or sell annual leave).
  • Role-related benefits such as a mobile phone and access to a vehicle.

  • Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Season ticket loan.
